New Seabee
Ratings
Here’s the new Seabee ratings that went into effect
on April 2, 1948. The new ratings were part of Occupational Group VIII
(Construction). The next restructuring came on February 2, 1959 when
CM became construction mechanic, CD became equipment operator (EO) and
the emergency service ratings were realigned. Surveyor did not change
to engineering aid (EA) until about 1960. Draftsman (DM) was a Group
VI (Miscellaneous) rating.
